Pre-release Changes v2.2

Pre-release Changes v2.2

22-Jul-2018
We are pleased to announce a significant update to OfficeMaps will be released in the next few days.  New versions will be released for:
  • OfficeMaps web app
  • OfficeMaps mobile web app
  • OfficeMaps mobile app for iOS
  • OfficeMaps mobile app for Android
IMPORTANT
The OfficeMaps login experience is changing. In order to incorporate the Microsoft Azure AD login experience we have rebuilt the login process from scratch.

New Login Experience

The login page for v2.1 (and prior) which required the user to select their own login method (username/password, Active Directory or Azure AD) is being replaced with a new login experience.

OfficeMaps administrators can now set the default method for all users.

When logging into OfficeMaps users will be prompted to enter their OfficeMaps instance name:

After the entered Instance name is validated, clicking Continue will direct the user to the login page appropriate for the default login method selected by an administrator.

For example, if the iconico instance has a default login method of Azure AD, the user will be directed to login using Azure AD.

New Login Links

To make the login process easier for your users, you can provide them with login links which include the instance name, or, the instance name and username.
You can copy these links from Preferences...Links and Widgets in the OfficeMaps web app.

What You Need To Do

Once v 2.2 is released you will only be able to use Azure AD or Active Directory if it has been selected as the default login method.
IMPORTANT - DO NOW
Please ensure now that you have set a default login method on the Preferences...People page.  This setting will be used in the new release.

IMPORTANT - DO AFTER v2.2 IS RELEASED
