How to: Check in and check out of a hotdesk

Requires OfficeMaps Professional

In a hotdesk environment, a user needs to be able to find a desk, check in to the desk, and at the end of the day, check out of the desk.

There are 4 ways for a user to check in and out of a desk.

  1. Web browser on a PC, laptop or tablet
  2. Mobile app on an iOS or Android device
  3. Touch screen kiosk located within the workplace
  4. Scan a QR code attached to a desk





Check in via the web browser

Step 1 - Select a desk to check in to

  • Click on the 'Check In' button located on the function bar. This can be found under the floor number or level name
  • Any desks that are available to check in to are shown with a green background and are labeled 'Check In'
  • Click on an available desk to continue


Step 2 - Choose a check in duration

  • Select the required check in duration
  • Click the button labeled 'Check In' to finish







Check out via the web browser

  • On the map, click on the desk that has your name displayed on it
  • Click on the button labeled 'Check Out' to finish



Check in via the mobile app

Step 1 - Select a desk to check in to

  • From the 'Me' menu, tap the button labeled 'Check In'
  • Any desks that are available to check in to are shown with a green background and are labeled 'Check In'
  • Tap on an available desk to continue


Step 2 - Choose a check in duration

  • Tap the required check in duration
  • Tap the button labeled 'Check In' to finish



Check out via the mobile app

  • From the 'Me menu, tap the button labeled 'Check Out'
