Location Settings

The Location Tree consists of nodes (locations) at different levels. Each level corresponds to a geographical view of a location. Hierarchically, these levels consist of:

Country

Region

City

Site

Level

 

Location level menus have the following options which are available to Administrators by right-clicking on a node:

 

 

Create new country: Creates a new country node. This option is only available on a Location node at the Country level.

Add new: Creates a new location at the immediate lower level. For example, by right-clicking on a Country node like Australia, Administrators will see the option Add new region.

Rename: Renames the currently selected location.

Delete: Deletes the currently selected location. Locations cannot be deleted until all locations under them (child locations) have been deleted.

Settings: This option controls settings for the current location. These options will change depending on the level of the location as follows.

 

Country Settings

 

 

Code: An optional code for the country.

Name: The name of the country. This value is required.

Latitude: The latitude of the country.

Longitude:The longitude of the country.

Zoom Level: The level of zoom that the map will display when the location is selected.

Visible: If this option is checked this country will be visible in the Location Tree.

 

Region Settings

 

 

 

Country: The country that this region belongs to. Changing this value will alter the position of the region within the Location Tree.

Code: An optional code for the region.

Name: The name of the region. This value is required.

Latitude: The latitude of the region.

Longitude:The longitude of the region.

Zoom Level: The level of zoom that the map will display when the location is selected.

Time Zone: A small clock will appear next to the region's name above the labels for the Person Panel and the Desk Panel showing the current time for people in this region. This clock will also appear for all cities and sites that belong to this region.

Visible: If this option is checked this region will be visible in the Location Tree.

 

City

 

 

 

 

Region: The region that this city belongs to. Changing this value will alter the position of the city within the Location Tree.

Code: An optional code for the city.

Name: The name of the city. This value is required.

Latitude: The latitude of the city.

Longitude:The longitude of the city.

Zoom Level: The level of zoom that the map will display when the location is selected.

Visible: If this option is checked this city will be visible in the Location Tree.

 

Site

 

 

City: The city that this Site belongs to. Changing this value will alter the position of the site within the Location Tree.

Site Location Type: The type of site. For more information about Location Types, see the article Location Types

Code: An optional code for the site.

Name: The name of the site. This value is required.

Latitude: The latitude of the site.

Longitude:The longitude of the site.

Zoom Level: The level of zoom that the map will display when the location is selected.

Visible: If this option is checked this site will be visible in the Location Tree.

Address Lines: Details the address of the site.
