15 February 2018 Web / API Updated to v1.6

OfficeMaps 1.6 has been released and includes new features and a range of bugs fixed. If your OfficeMaps is not cloud-hosted, these changes will be available immediately. Simply log out of OfficeMaps, restart your browser and then log in again. If your OfficeMaps is self-hosted then you will need to update your OfficeMaps website following a manual process. Please contact OfficeMaps support if you require assistance with this.

New Features and Improvements

Map Download and Print functions now available for all users - Previously only administrators were able to print or download maps; now this function is available to all users. Please note that this function is only available users with the Chrome browser.

Snap to grid in level map edit mode - When editing level maps administrators are able to invoke a grid which makes it easier to align people and assets on the map.

Users now have a Home Location which can be any location on the Location Tree - Home Locations can be used to allocate a default area for a user who may not currently be in a location but is considered attached to that area. This is particularly useful for workers who are regularly out of the office but have a designated desk when they are present.

Search filters by Location and Department - A filter for the currently selected Location or Department is automatically applied when performing a search. This restricts search results to the people and objects in the filtered Location or Department (or both). These filters can be removed to search across all locations and departments by clicking the x next to the filter name in the search box.

Rotation and size of asset and pin icons - Administrators are now able to change the size and rotation angle of icons that are used for assets and pins.

Desks can now be grouped - Users are able to group desks on a level map by attribute, similar to how People on a map can be grouped. To use this function, select the Desk Panel on any map and grouping options will be available at the top of the Location Tree.

Bug Fixes

A number of bugs have been resolved including the following:

Intranet Widget not working properly with Internet Explorer.

Search returning Objects that do not exist within some applied filter items.

Creating a new node in the Location Tree view does not cause the tree to scroll to the new node when it is not already visible.

Users who are department administrators have inconsistent editing rights.

When users with no Launch Page log in, no position in the Location Tree is selected and the map pane appears empty.
