Data Panels provide information about people and objects in OfficeMaps and can be invoked by clicking on the corresponding Data Panel label under the name of the level when using the Location Tree or by selecting an object that appears on a map. There are two Data Panels: the People Panel and the Desk Panel.
Clicking on the Person Panel label when using the Location Tree will display in the People Panel the names of all the people that belong to the currently selected node, as well as in all child nodes.
If the People Panel label has been clicked, a list of fields will appear above the Location Tree. These are fields that have been designated as able to be Grouped By. Selecting one of these fields in the filter will display only those users who possess that value (e.g., people who are labelled as having First Aid skills) or will display all users grouped by the value if the field allows users to chose from a list of values. For more information about this, see the article Adding Fields to People.
If you click on a user's name on a map or in the People Panel when using the Location Tree, information about that user will appear in the People Panel. This will also occur when you select a user from the list of users when using the Department Tree. If you are using the Location Tree and this user has been assigned to an asset, the view will change to the map that the asset is on and the map will pan to it.
In this panel users are able to view and change Profile information about themselves which will be visible to other users of OfficeMaps. The list of fields available to edit will be determined by your OfficeMaps Administrator. These fields will always include your Status and optionally your name, contact information, work days for the current and following week as well as other fields.
One of the Profile details that is available for view is a user's calendar which is synchronised from Active Directory or Azure Active Directory if this facility has been enabled for the user. From here, users can see the time and details of any appointments for that user by clicking on the calendar icon next to the profile picture.
To edit a Profile, click on the pencil icon and edit the values of the fields you would like to change. The pencil icon will change to a square icon. When you have finished, click on the square icon to exit editing mode. Non-Administrator users are not able to edit the Profile of other users, but users who are Administrators of a Department will have permission to edit the profiles of other users who are members of that department.
When finished, close the People Panel by clicking on the close icon for the user you are editing. If using the Location Tree, the People Panel will be hidden and the view will revert to the map of the currently selected node. If using the Department View, the People Panel will disappear and the view will change back to the list of all users in the department.
