Adding Pins to a Map

Adding Pins to a Map

Once a Level Map has been created, pins can be added to it to help define the environment in which people work. A number of pin types exist by default in OfficeMaps, including Kitchen, Printer and First Aid Kit. Pins differ from assets in that people cannot be assigned to them.

Only Administrators are able to add, edit or remove pins from a map. Browse through the Location Tree until the Level location is selected. The pencil button appears next to the map control buttons which are available to all users.

Clicking this button enters edit mode which displays a number of objects that can be added to the map (People, Assets and Pins). Select the icon that resembles a thumb tack to choose Pins.

The list of available pins will appear. Select an pin from the list and drag it to its desired spot on the map.

When a pin is added to a map, details of that pin appear in the Desk Panel. If desired, changes to the pin can be made by editing it as described in the article Viewing and Editing Assets in the Desk Panel. Repeat this process as many times as needed. When finished, click the pencil button again to end editing mode.
