Step 5: Configuring Assets and Pins

There are two types of objects that can be placed on to a map in OfficeMaps.

First - Assets:

Assets are objects like desks and meeting rooms to which people can be assigned.

To create an Asset:
  1. Click on the arrow on the left top corner (on top of your username).
  1. Click on the 'Preferences' button. 
  1. Click on the 'Assets' button on the left side bar.

Second - Pins:

A Pin is an object that is static and which is not connected to people, like a printer or a fire extinguisher. 

To create a Pin:
  1. Click on the arrow on the left top corner (on top of your username).
  1. Click on the 'Preferences' button. 
  1. Click on the 'Pins' button on the left side bar.

Assets & Pins both have profiles. Profiles can contain any extra information about the Asset or Pin that would be useful for a user searching for it. You can add information to Assets & Pins profiles after they are created.
