By using the OfficeMaps Zapier integration you can update user details from over 2000 other applications including Slack, SQL Server, G Suite, IMAP Email Servers, and AWS.
Prerequisites:
- Before starting you will need to have a Zapier account and have connected it to your OfficeMaps instance. To learn how to do this read this article on Getting Started with OfficeMaps and Zapier.
- You can only use this feature if you are an OfficeMaps administrator user.
- You can only use this feature if you have a cloud-hosted OfficeMaps instance.
- You will need the PersonID of the user you wish to update. To find out how to get the PersonID of a user, we recommend reading our article on Finding Users with Zapier.
- You will need a Trigger Action set up in Zapier, off which to base your Update User action. You can see how to setup a trigger action in the Finding Users with Zapier article.
Updating the User in OfficeMaps
In the App Event section type OfficeMaps into the search box provided. Select OfficeMaps from the list of integrations.
Choose Event
Once you have selected OfficeMaps from the list of Apps you will be prompted to select an Action Event. Select Update User from the dropdown provided.
Click Continue to proceed.
Choose Account
Under OfficeMaps account select your account name. In our example, we have several to choose from (as we are developers) but you will likely only have one account.
Click Continue to proceed.
Set Up Action
In this step, we will be configuring what information on the user we will update. The first thing we need to do is identify which user is being updated.
Each OfficeMaps User is identified by their PersonID. It will look something like the following: 60c3d9a2-5e60-eb11-aaaa-06cd11eacdb6.
In the PersonID field click into the dropdown. Scroll down until you see the User ID field. Click on it.
The next step is to add any data which you would like to update for the User/Person you have selected. In our example above, we added the user's mobile number. Once you have mapped any of the fields you would like to update, scroll down and click Continue.
Test Action
The last step is to test that the action has is working. Click on Test & Review. Your automation will now search your OfficeMaps instance for the PersonID of the user.
If a user is found, Zapier will show you the PersonID of that user in their response window. The window will also say "Test was Successful!" at the top of the screen.
At this point, you can either turn your Zap on by clicking on the Turn on Zap button or clicking the + button to add another step to your automation.
